PLEASE NOTE: As of December 2009, our publishing list for 2010 is quite full; however, we are still open to receiving submissions but please be aware if anything is to be published it is more likely to go on our 2011 list.
Please carefully read and follow our submission guidelines below.


Rockpool Publishing will accept unsolicited submissions in the practical mind body spirit self-help; parenting; and general/mass market non-fiction genres e.g. sport and popular culture.
Please read the following guidelines carefully before you submit to us.

Your hard copy proposal should include:

  1. Clear and concise cover letter including date and contact details
  2. Author/business credentials
  3. Short synopsis + Table of contents
  4. 1-2 sample chapters - Please do not send original artwork.
  5. Brief overview of market research, target audience, marketing ideas
  6. If you wish to have your submission returned, please include a stamped, self-addressed envelope. Otherwise, clearly state in your cover letter instructions to discard

  8. Before making your submission, we would appreciate if you could take a look at our previously published books to gain an understanding of the type of books we are interested in
  9. Keep it brief and to the point.

  16. Author realism, it can sometimes take a long time for a book to become a success in the book trade, and author patience and understanding to trust a publisher and work to promote a book over the long term is appreciated
  17. Your patience! We receive an overwhelming amount of submissions and it may be months before you hear from us.

Tips: Note to all prospective authors, they must be prepared to work hard to help in promoting their book, they must present well, and any chance of getting media training for themselves is a plus. You should have researched the market completely and know the competition in the genre, or topic area. You should point out why your book will sell and what differentiates it from the competition.
