Behind the Paramedic's Eyes with Sandy Macken

Sutherland Shire Library
30-36 Belmont Street, Sutherland, New South Wales

Join us on February 11th, 2019 for an evening of powerful and heart-wrenching real stories from Sydney-based author, Sandy Macken, with new book Paramedic, as she opens up on her journey through self-discovery and healing after 20 years being at the front line as a emergency First Responder.

As Sandy pulls back the curtain on the strains and stresses of human trauma, she changes the perspective on our superhero ambos and reveals the real reality from the other side of the line.

In this special talk at Sutherland Library, Sandy will share with you her experiences of the exhilaration and danger of emergency trauma like no other, where a few seconds can mean the difference between life and death, but also the raw beauty, vulnerability and remarkable resilience of the human spirit.

Sandy is just like you, only she is at the wheel of an ambulance with life and death in her hands every day. Without shying away from the trauma, she shows the reader just how much a life deeply grounded in love can offer.
