Mim Beim

For 25 years Mim Beim has been practising as a naturopath. Her experience has made her a firm believer in making changes to lifestyle and diet before any kind of medicine and she also thinks treatment should be enjoyable, not torturous. Mim has written eight books and is a lecturer at the Australasian College of Natural Therapies. She currently writes a naturopathy column for the Sunday Telegraph’s Body and Soul (National Australian weekend newspaper), and their website bodyandsoul.com.au.

Over the years Mim has had regular columns with the Sun Herald, Good Medicine and Family Circle. Mim currently lectures at the Australasian College of Natural Therapies in Sydney and is recent past head of Naturopathy at the Australian Traditional Medicine Society. She also sees patients in her Bowral clinic in the Southern Highlands. In the 1990’s Mim was the Triple J naturopath and afterwards gave advice on Tony Delroy’s Nightlife. Mim starred in the LifeForce TV series on Foxtel. She has been a consultant to Liptons, Nokia and Big Brother.

In the last five years she has created a range of therapeutic (and delicious) herbal teas called Beaming with Health.

This new book from Mim Beim is so much more than the average A-Z. With more than 20 years’ experience as a practising naturopath, author, educator and media personality, Mim has a wealth of knowledge to impart to the reader. Natural Remedies offers solid naturopathic information with little bits of humour injected along the way. There are remedies for over 200 common conditions, from more minor ailments such as bad breath and body odour through to serious diseases such as cancer and multiple sclerosis.

Book Review - Natural Remdies -an A-Z of cures for health and wellbeing

BY DEB ASHTON ND RN - AUSTRALIAN NATUROPATH PRACTITIONERS ASSOCIATION AUGUST 27TH / 0 COMMENTS

Book Review - Natural Remdies -an A-Z of cures for health and wellbeing by Deb Ashton I found this book was easy to read and understand. It is set out alphabetically, with sections clearly delineated to define the condition, common symptoms as well as what the causes may be. It describes the remedies as well as relevant dietary changes. There is a quick "at a glance" reference section in each condition. This precis of the information is helpful if you are short of time for more detailed reading.
